More Than 100 Thousand Ukrainians Who Do Not Have The Ability To Fight Become Impromptu Soldiers, Where Are They Stationed?
JAKARTA - Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians have become impromptu soldiers against the Russian invasion. Are they ready to face Vladimir Putin's battle-trained troops?
For the record, there are more than 100.000 Ukrainians have already joined the country's territorial defense units. In fact, more than 200.000 Ukrainians have also taken the initiative to return from Europe to help Ukraine win the battle with Russia.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov confirmed this line of civilians would not be sent to front-line battles.
It is tantamount to suicide if this group comes into direct contact with the Kremlin military. They have no fighting skills.
These civilians had just been appointed as additional defense and trained to take up arms against the Russians.
"It doesn't make sense. On the contrary. Our soldiers stop more enemies because they are motivated, better trained, and armed," Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov was quoted as saying by the BBC, Friday 11 March.
He added that conscripts should notify the military of their whereabouts, and keep in touch with their local recruitment center.

Meanwhile, a convoy of Russian troops near Kyiv appears to be starting to set up a new position. Satellite images from Maxar Technologies reveal that the convoy, which was previously northwest of the nearest Antonov Airport, has now been moved to the surrounding towns.
Maxar said the images also showed another part of the convoy to the north had positioned itself near Lubyanka, and positioned artillery nearby.
Earlier on Thursday, a senior US defense official said that Russian troops had moved three miles (5 km) closer to Kyiv in the past 24 hours.
