116 Thousand Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine In Bengkulu Expired

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Provincial Health Office said that 116,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine had expired on February 28, 2022.

The head of the Bengkulu Provincial Health Office, Herwan Antoni, said that his party received more than 301,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

Then it has been distributed to all regencies and cities in Bengkulu Province as much as 284 thousand more so that around 17 thousand more doses are stored in pharmacy warehouses.

"The highest expired vaccines came from Rejang Lebong Regency, Seluma Regency, and Mukomuko Regency", Herwan said as quoted by Antara on Tuesday, March 1.

Then the lowest expired vaccines came from South Bengkulu Regency and Kepahiang Regency.

According to Herwan, the data in the Immunization Monitoring System and Electronic Logistics (SMILE) application is still being updated from every district or city in Bengkulu Province.

"This is temporary data that we just received at 11.00 this afternoon from the SMILE application, so we are still waiting for real data from each district and city which may continue to be updated", he said.

Herwan explained that his party had made every effort to achieve the vaccination target before the AstraZeneca vaccine entered its expiration period.

In the last four days, the achievement of the first dose of vaccination has reached more than 88 percent, for the second dose it has reached 60 percent and the third dose has reached 30 percent.

The delay in achieving the vaccination target is because the AstraZeneca vaccine can only be administered if the first and second doses of vaccination have been vaccinated within six months and the age limit is 18 and over to the elderly.

However, nearing the expiration date, the government issued a new policy that allows the general public to get the third dose of vaccination.

The following are the doses of the expired AstraZeneca vaccine, namely Bengkulu City, which is 3.6 thousand doses, Seluma District as many as 17.5 thousand doses, Central Bengkulu Regency 4.8 thousand doses.

Mukomuko Regency has 16.1 thousand doses, Rejang Lebong Regency has 23.3 thousand doses, Lebong Regency has 9.2 thousand doses.

North Bengkulu Regency 10.3 thousand doses, South Bengkulu Regency around 1.5 thousand doses, Kaur Regency 10.3 thousand doses, and Kepahiang Regency around 2 thousand doses.
