There Is A Bill For Treating COVID-19 Patients Of IDR 25 Trillion, The Presidential Staff Office Makes Sure It Is Paid Immediately To The Hospital
JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) is ready to ensure that the cost of treating COVID-19 patients worth IDR 25 trillion will be paid immediately to hospitals. Moreover, there has been a direct order from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
"The KSP will oversee this process and ensure openness to input and criticism of claim recipients for patient costs," said KSP Main Expert Dr. Noch T Mallisa in a KSP press release quoted by Antara, Sunday, February 27.
Mallisa conveyed that the KSP would ensure that the hospital would continue to provide good services and would not be burdened with arrears in claims.
In addition, Mallisa also encourages the hospital to continue to proactively improve coordination and communication with the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and Social Security Administrator (BPJS) Health to complete data and fulfill claims settlement requirements.

Quoted from the KSP press release, the Ministry of Health acknowledged that there was an obligation to pay claims to hospitals for COVID-19 patient services amounting to IDR 25.1 trillion. The arrears are the remaining government debt to hospitals in 2021.
According to the Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the settlement of the IDR 25.1 trillion claim could not be completed because not all hospitals (RS) submitted the Minutes of Reconciliation (BAR) to the Ministry of Health, which is a condition for payment of claims for COVID-19 treatment costs.
Sub Coordinator for Monitoring and Evaluation of Hospitals at the Directorate of Referral Health Services at the Ministry of Health, Budhi Suryadharma, said that the Ministry of Health was currently accelerating the settlement of claims for handling COVID-19 patients.
"We ask for cooperation from the hospital in order to respond quickly in completing the claim file requested by BPJS Health and the Ministry of Health, and pay attention to the time limit for submitting a claim that has been determined to avoid expired claims," said Budhi.
