Due To COVID-19, Batam Immigration Is Temporarily Closed
BATAM - Class I Immigration Office Special for Batam Immigration Checkpoints is temporarily closed on Monday-Wednesday (February 21-23) for sterilization to avoid potential transmission of COVID-19.
"To break the chain of transmission of COVID-19 and to sterilize the office environment, it is informed that as of February 21-23, 2022 all immigration services at Immigration Class I Special TPI Batam on Engku Putri Street No. 3 Batam Center will again be closed or abolished", said Head of Information and Communication Technology of the Immigration Office Class I Special for TPI Batam, Tessa Harumdila, in Batam as reported by Antara, Monday, February 21.
In addition to the Class I Immigration Office for TPI, passport services at the Batam Botania Mall are also closed today. However, Tessa emphasized that the cancellation of services at the shopping center was not related to COVID-19, but because there was maintenance.
"Mall Botania 2 is only due to maintenance", she said.
Although the Batam Center Immigration Office is closed, it ensures that several immigration services are still served.

For residence permits for foreign nationals, it can still be done at the Batam Center Public Service Mall and for people who want to apply for passports, they are still served at the Harbor Bay Service Unit.
"Regarding urgent immigration services, you can contact our passport service hotline", she said.
Previously, the Batam TPI Special Class I Immigration Office was also closed due to COVID-19 on Wednesday-Friday (February 16-18). And because of the same problem, the service cancellation had to be extended.
