VW Expects Autonomous Car Technology To Continue To Develop In The Next 25 Years
JAKARTA - Volkswagen's chief executive, Herbert Diess, expects the auto industry to see broad developments in autonomous driving in the next 25 years. This he revealed on Wednesday, February 16, in a question and answer session on the social media platform Reddit.
As reported by Reuters, Diess also said Volkswagen was pursuing further partnerships to increase its self-sufficiency in software and add features such as dedicated voice assistants to its production cars.
He added that VW is working on the ID Sedan Space Vizzion and SUV variants for the North American market as well as new ideas for the ID 3 Taxi.

When asked if Volkswagen would make an electric pickup like the Ford F150 Lighting, he said it was a "good idea".
VW is now continuing to focus on developing electric cars and self-driving cars to compete with the current king of electric cars like Tesla.
The rapidly growing electric car market and commitments in many countries to ban internal combustion cars by 2030, have forced VW, as well as other car manufacturers, to seek and develop electric car technology or cars with other sustainable technologies.
