MATARAM - The Mandalika MotoGP Field Command Marshal (ret) Hadi Tjahjanto stated, from the results of the PCR swab tests that had been carried out on the crew and MotoGP pre-season test riders, none of them tested positive for COVID-19, including the new Omicron variant.

"Thank God all the crew and racers of the Mandalika MotoGP pre-season test are free from COVID-19," Hadi said while reviewing the Mandalika Circuit in Praya, quoted from Antara, Friday, February 11.

The safety of the crew and riders from the COVID virus is ensured by the application of the travel bubble, both from arrival to lodging and in the Mandalika Sikuit area.

Several well-known racers who have landed in Lombok are Marc Marquez who arrived on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Jorge Martin, Suzuki Rider Alex Rins to Johann Zarco.

"During the race event in the circuit's paddock area, the crew and riders who enter," he said.

He said, before they start racing, the crew and drivers will again undergo a PCR swab test. In addition, all crew and driver vehicle drivers, as well as hotel employees where they stay, are tested for PCR swabs.

"We continue to tighten supervision of the implementation of health protocols, so that everything is tested by PCR, including taking samples of residents around the circuit," he said.

Previously, the government would also implement a travel bubble mechanism during the Mandalika Circuit MotoGP event on March 18-20, 2022. This mechanism will also facilitate the next process where after the administrative inspection is complete, the group will be placed in the respective hotel where they are staying.

"This is to anticipate the risk of the COVID-19 virus entering Indonesia, when the participants and the MotoGP team arrive. At the hotel, PCR tests will continue to be carried out," said Hadi Tjahjanto.
