North Sumatra Police To Check Langkat Regent Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin Related To Human Cage With 3 Dead Victims

MEDAN - The North Sumatran Regional Police are planning to investigate the inactive Langkat Regent, Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin regarding the human cage in his house which is suspected of being used as a place of slavery.

"This includes examining anyone we need to provide information regarding the case, including the former Langkat Regent," said North Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak in Medan, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 9.

The Police Chief said that so far his party has examined as many as 63 people related to the alleged slavery case which resulted in the death of three people.

Dozens of people who have been examined consist of people who have lived in that place and their families or people who know the alleged criminal acts that occurred while in that place.

"We are continuing to explore apart from the three (deceased) people we have received, there are still other deaths or not," he said.

The North Sumatran Police Chief confirmed that there were other people involved in the alleged slavery case.

"Anyone related to the incident who deserves to be held accountable will be processed," he said.
