Gunung Mas Substation Completes And Retires 2 PLTD, PLN: Saves IDR 20.6 Billion On Operational Costs
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has completed the construction of a 150 kilovolt (KV) substation for Central Kalimantan 1 Town Feeder Transformer (TFT) in Tumbang Kajuei Village, Gunung Mas Regency, Central Kalimantan.
General Manager of the West Kalimantan Development Main Unit, Didik Mardiyanto, said that by completing the construction, PLN could also save IDR 20.6 billion from the operation of the substation with a capacity of 30 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA).
The completion of the construction of the Central Kalimantan 1 TFT GI will also reduce the use of the Tumbang Jutuh and Tumbang Talaken PLTDs.
"The termination of the PLTD is an effort to increase the reliability of electricity by eliminating the use of diesel generators and connecting the local electricity system to the Kalimantan electricity system," he continued.
Later, GI Kalselteng 1 TFT will be able to supply electricity to residents in Rungan and Manuhing sub-districts, in Gunung Mas Regency, as well as other residents in the vicinity.
"With the presence of this infrastructure, it will certainly increase the reliability of electricity for customers. We hope that with a maximum electricity supply, it can improve the economic activity of the residents and improve the welfare of the community," said Didik.
He continued, this substation will supply electricity from PLTU IPP Kalselteng 1 with a capacity of 200 megawatts (MW).
Previously, residents in the two villages enjoyed electricity 18 hours per day, now they have been connected to the Kalimantan system and 2,850 customers enjoy 24-hour electricity. PLN must operate PLTD to be able to electrify the community. However, with the existence of a substation, PLN can reduce the use of PLTD so that it can save operating costs of Rp. 20.6 billion per year.
"Currently, 2,850 customers were previously supplied through PLTD Tumbang Jutuh and Tumbang Talaken. With the presence of PLN electricity, we hope that residents' activities will be easier, and of course can encourage economic growth for the community in Tumbang Jutuh Village and Tumbang Talaken Village, as well as the surrounding villages. , said Didik.
The construction of this GI requires an investment of Rp 12 billion with a Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of 31.82 percent. This GI has also obtained a Certificate of Operation Worthiness (SLO) from the PLN Certification Center. S
"Thank God the 150 kV Central Kalimantan 1 TFT GI has received an SLO. This is also useful for ensuring that electrical installations operate according to applicable safety standards," said Didik.
In addition to obtaining an SLO for the GI 150 kV Central Kalimantan 1, PLN also obtained an SLO for the Bangkanai (Peaker) Stage 2 Unit 13 Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) project with a capacity of 140 MW.
PLN also targets to complete the construction of the interconnection network between the Barito electricity system in Central Kalimantan and the Equator system in West Kalimantan, namely the 150 kV Pangkalan Bun-Sukamara and Sukamara-Kendawangan SUTT projects.
