2 Days Escape From Argamakmur Prison Bengkulu, Inmate B Successfully Arrested By Joint Team In Pulau Baru Village
BENGKULU - The Bengkulu Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) Joint Team in collaboration with the Police arrested one prisoner with the initials B (51).
B is a resident from Central Bengkulu Regency who fled from Argamakmur Prison.
Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Imam Jauhari, said that B was arrested on Sunday afternoon at around 17:56 western Indonesia time in Pulau Baru Village, Ipuh District, Mukomuko Regency.
"This success is due to the team's hard work and good cooperation with law enforcement officers, namely the North Bengkulu Resort Police and the Muko-Muko Resort Police through the Ipuh Police," said Imam in Bengkulu, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 24.
Inmate B escaped from Argamakmur Prison on Friday, January 21 while helping to clean the outside of the prison. While helping to clean the outside yard, the prisoner was escorted by two bodyguards. However, during mealtime, prisoner B slipped from the officers' eyes and fled.
He also thanked the North Bengkulu Police Chief, Muko Muko Police Chief, and Ipuh Police Chief for assisting his party in conducting the search and pursuit.

Imam continued, his party will form an inspection team that aims to find facts about the occurrence of the escape, whether any SOPs were violated or due to the negligence of the guards.
Currently, the inspection team is still conducting a search and the results of the examination will be reported to the Regional Head of the Bengkulu Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the central leadership for decision making in accordance with applicable regulations.
It is known that the joint team formed by the Bengkulu Regional Head of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights consists of members from the Correctional Division, Argamakmur Prison, Bengkulu Prison, and the Malabero Detention Center.
