Swiss Food Company Nestle Gives Special Scholarships To Help Indonesian Education

JAKARTA - The Swiss multinational company engaged in the food industry, Nestle, is committed to helping the development of Indonesian education by providing special scholarships for school-age children.

Business Executive Officer Beverages Business PT Nestle Indonesia Mirna Tri Handayani said the company has held a national program to select the 10 best talents as candidates for scholarship recipients. According to her, from this number, three children were selected who were entitled to receive tuition assistance worth more than IDR 150 million.

“We packaged this program in a campaign titled Milo Activ Academy as a form of Nestle's seriousness in supporting education in Indonesia. Hopefully, this appreciation can be a motivation to form a generation that is ready to face the challenges ahead," she said in an official statement quoted on Thursday, January 20.

According to Mirna, Nestle Indonesia also complements its business activities in the country by releasing a special digital platform as an effort to strengthen interaction with market share. She said, the application has reached more than 10 million people and has around 10,000 active users.

"Through this platform, our market, especially parents, can access educational services and monitor children's motor activities," she said.

On the same occasion, Psychologist Vera Itabiliana Hadiwidjojo said that Nestle's strategic steps were quite important and could have a positive impact on children's behavior, learning performance, and mental maturity.

"Hopefully this activity can motivate all of us to be able to love children in healthy ways," she said.
