Handcuffed And Wearing KPK Orange Vest, Langkat Regent Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin Becomes A Corruption Suspect
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named the Langkat Regent publishes a Warin Wind Plan as a suspect in the alleged bribery in the procurement of goods and services for the 2020-2022 budget year. The determination of the status of the suspect was carried out after Terbit was snared in a hand arrest operation (OTT).
VOI monitoring, Terbit along with four other suspects came down from the examination room of the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. He appears to be wearing an orange vest and his hands are handcuffed.
Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission, Nurul Ghufron, said that eight people were arrested from the silent operation in the Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. Of this number, the KPK then named five people as suspects, one of whom was Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin.
"KPK found sufficient preliminary evidence to increase the status as a suspect," said Ghufron at a press conference at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 20.
During the silent operation, Ghufron said that the team in the field found IDR 786 million in cash, which was only a small part of the receipts received by Terbit Rencana Perangin Angin.
The KPK said that Terbit had managed the project by ordering his subordinates to coordinate with the party representing him. "In order to become a winner, there is a request for a fee," said Ghufron.
After the announcement of his legal status, Terbit and the other suspects will be detained in a number of different KPK detention centers. Later, they will first self-isolate in their respective detention rooms because the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening.
"For the investigation process, an attempt was made to force detention for the next 20 days starting January 20 to February 8," said Ghufron.
