The Ministry Of Health Ensures That There Is Sufficient Stock Of Booster Vaccines
JAKARTA - The government has started injecting a booster vaccine or the 3rd dose of COVID-19 vaccine for free to the general public since January 12, 2022.
The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) ensures that the stock or number of vaccine doses is sufficient to be injected into the general public. Both for the primary vaccine (injection of the first and second doses), or booster (injection of the third dose).
"So far, we have received a total of 439.394.000 vaccines. This means that we have sufficient stock to carry out primary vaccinations and follow-up vaccinations," said Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination at the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi in a webinar, Sunday, January 16.
Nadia explained that more than 40 percent of Indonesians have been vaccinated up to the second dose. This figure, he said, was in line with the target given by the World Health Organization (WHO).
"Currently, of course, the WHO target of at least 40 percent of the population getting the second dose (vaccine) has been met," she explained.
