The Street Race Event In Ancol Will Be Guarded By 500 Personnel From Metro Police
JAKARTA - As many as 500 personnel were deployed by Polda Metro Jaya to secure the Street Race event on Jalan Kali Inspeksi in Ancol, North Jakarta, Sunday, January 16.
"There is quite a lot of personnel, there are around 500. There are companies from Brimob, from Sabhara, and so on," said the Traffic Director of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo, quoting Antara, Saturday, January 15.
Sambodo said, police personnel will also check on spectators who will enter the race arena, in order to anticipate spectators carrying sharp objects and objects.
The audience will also undergo a health check by officers by showing their health status on the PeduliLindung application.
"There was a health check. The audience entered Ancol first. So there was a check through the PeduliLindung application. There was also a check from the management," he said.
There are around 350 racers who will take part in the Street Race practice in Ancol which is divided into several classes.
"There are 4-stroke automatic classes, 2-stroke sports, Sunmori classes, 2-stroke ducks, 4-stroke ducks, FFA classes, 4-stroke sports, even Vespa classes," he said.

The racers will compete in their respective classes with the title of joint training between fellow communities, so there is no winner.
"We did not prepare the champion and there was no prize, because this is a joint training event," he said.
Polda Metro Jaya and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) have agreed to hold street racing in Ancol in order to facilitate racing hobbyists so they don't get involved in illegal racing.
"We agree that Ancol is one of the options or it will be used as a place to accommodate our young people to channel their racing hobbies and will start on January 15, 2021," said IMI Chairman Bambang Soesatyo.
