DKI Transportation Agency Held Traffic Engineering During Glodok-Kota MRT Construction

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Service carried out traffic engineering during the construction of the mass rapid transit (MRT) phase II from Glodok Station to City MRT Station.

Quoted from Antara, Saturday, January 15, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Service, Syafrin Liputo explained, the construction of the second phase of the Glodok MRT Station segment will start from January 15, 2022, to May 31, 2024.

The construction sites are located on Gajah Mada Street, Hayam Wuruk Street, and South Pintu Besar Street, starting from the front of LTC Glodok to the Kota Tua intersection.

To support the smooth running of the work, traffic engineering will be carried out according to the stages of work on Gajah Mada Street and Hayam Wuruk Street.

The work that is currently underway is on Gajah Mada Street in front of the Novotel Gajah Mada Street to Indomart, by dismantling the pedestrian bridge (JPO) at the Transjakarta Glodok bus stop.

Then, soil protection and D-Wall guide wall, king post, excavation, Glodok Station structure work, tunnel excavation of subway line.

"During the work, the traffic on Hayam Wuruk Street will be four lanes and mixed with the TransJakarta route," he said.

Meanwhile, the traffic from Gajah Mada Street will be divided into two, the left side of the work area is two regular lanes and the right side of the work area is two traffic lanes with the TransJakarta Line.

During the work, the TransJakarta Glodok bus stop service will be temporarily moved to the north side.

Users of the TransJakarta Glodok JPO facility will be diverted to use the zebra crossing facility, equipped with a pedestrian signal light or "pelican crossing".

The SMCC-HK Joint Operation as the executor of the phase two MRT construction work segment of the Glodok MRT Station-City MRT Station is fully responsible for the safety and security of road users.

He appealed to road users to avoid these roads and be able to adjust the traffic arrangements set, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field, and prioritize road safety.
