World Shooting Championship Ready To Be Held in Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Executive Board of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association (PB Perbakin) is ready to hold the ISSF Rifle/Pistol World Championship at the Senayan Shooting Ground, Jakarta, 8-18 February.
In a meeting with the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali, Chairman of PB Perbakin Joni Supriyanto said that the Grand Prix championship was first held in Indonesia.
"We report that the supporting facilities at the Senayan Shooting Range are ready, this is the first host for Indonesia," said Joni, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 14.
He said that until now there have been seven countries that have registered and will continue to grow until the opening.
Zainudin Amali welcomed the implementation of the international shooting championship which was held for the first time in Indonesia. He considered the events to be quite important, not only to improve national sports achievements, but also the potential for sport tourism and the sport industry.
"I welcome a championship like this, especially since this is the first host. This is in line with the direction of the President to be able to bring international championships to Indonesia, so that in addition to achievements, sport tourism and the sport industry will increase," he said.

Zainudin added that the atmosphere of a world-class championship is also important for Indonesian shooting athletes, especially since the event is directly supervised by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) so that it becomes a separate experience for athletes, as well as increasing flight time and getting to know the opponent's strength.
"Even in their own country, athletes will get used to the atmosphere of international championships, let alone being monitored directly by ISSF, this will have a good impact on the development of our athletes," concluded Zainudin.
