Celebrating 65th Anniversary, East Kalimantan Provincial Government Distributes Basic Food Packages To Elderly And Veterans
KALTIM - The Provincial Government of East Kalimantan (Kaltim) distributed basic food packages to the elderly (elderly) in social institutions and veterans in commemoration of the region's 65th anniversary.
Regional Secretary for East Kalimantan Province, HM Sa'bani, said the elderly and veterans are not people who should be set aside, but must always be respected and appreciated. In addition, not a few of the elderly are still energetic, creative and active in working and creating.
"Many of our seniors have potential and even productivity. We still need to follow their ideas and thoughts," said Sa'bani at the UPTD of the Tresna Werdha Nirwana Puri Social Panti, Antara, Thursday, January 13.
Sa'bani also asked that the existence of social institutions owned by the government and the community should be able to empower the assisted elderly. "We can continue to train them to be productive and keep their spirits up, and be creative even though they live in social institutions," hoped Sa'bani.
Head of the East Kalimantan Social Service, Agus Hari Kesuma, said that there were 103 elderly assisted residents at the Tresna Werdha Nirwana Puri Social Institution UPTD, consisting of 52 women and 51 men.
