An Ojol Driver's Story That He Can't Earn Money Because His Motorcycle, Which Is Still On Credit, Is Lost

JAKARTA - RA (32) an online motorcycle taxi driver (ojol) victim of motorbike theft in Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta could only surrender after his Vario motorbike was lost to thieves. Even though the motorbike is used by RA every day to earn money to support his family. But now it's not there anymore. RA hopes that the motorcycle thief can be caught.

"I can't (make a living). Already (married). Off for a while (as an online motorcycle taxi driver), maybe looking for a motorbike loan to relatives," said RA, Thursday, January 13.

The resident of Karang Anyar Village, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, admitted that he had lost two motorbikes in the area. Even this time, the Honda Beat motorbike belonging to the boarding house occupant also disappeared at the same time. So at one time, there were two missing motors.

"The incident (yesterday) night was two motorbikes at once, one of which belonged to the boarding house occupant. (yesterday) that night was with me, the Beat Street motorbike," said RA.

It's sad that RA's stolen motorbike has not been paid off. Still in the process of credit installments, said RA.

"My (motorcycle) has installments, after all, the motorbike has moved over. I just paid the motorbike installment of Rp6 million," admitted RA.

RA saw exactly what the perpetrator was doing when he stole his motorbike through CCTV footage.

"The perpetrator damaged the fence padlock and the fence padlock was brought by the perpetrator. A kind of T key to disassemble the motorbike. Inside the motorbike there were only raincoats and helmets, I'm also an ojol," he said.

The theft incident began when RA left his motorbike in his sister's boarding house on Karang Anyar Raya Street, Number 11, Sawah Besar. Meanwhile, RA returns to his house which is not far from his sister's boarding house. The perpetrator launched the action when all the occupants of the boarding house were asleep.

CCTV footage shows that two of the perpetrators carried out the theft. The incident occurred at around 1.30 am.

"The theft was discovered by one of the people there wanting to pee. He saw the door was wide open, then he called the boarding house people there. My sister was worried that my motorbike was there, then she woke me up to make sure," said RA, Wednesday 12 January.

Sawah Besar Police Chief, Commissioner of Police Maulana Mukarom, confirmed the theft incident. Currently, his party is still conducting investigations and analyzing CCTV footage at the crime scene.

"Witnesses are still being questioned. They are still being investigated," he said.
