There Are 112 Cases Involving Children In Bogor, The Most Is Sexual Violence

JAKARTA - A total of 112 cases of violence against children in a year have been handled by the Regional Child Protection Commission (KPAD) of Bogor Regency, West Java.

"In detail, there are 45 direct complaints, 50 online complaints and monitoring, and 17 cases in the field," said Bogor regency KPAD head Jopie Gilalo, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

Based on the records of the Bogor KPAD, said Jopie, of the hundreds of child cases handled, the most were cases related to sexual violence.

"Most cases of sexual violence against children, then cases of disputes over custody. There are also cases of neglect and trafficking of children," he explained.

Jopie admitted, at the age of only one year, the Bogor Regency KPAD has carried out its duties and functions in accordance with the mandate of Article 76 of the Child Protection Act.

"By supervising the implementation of child protection, then receiving public complaints, collecting data and information related to the implementation of child protection, mediating child disputes, and collaborating with relevant stakeholders," explained Jopie.

He said these achievements were the encouragement and role of the Bogor Regent, Ade Yasin, who was concerned about child protection by establishing the management of the Bogor Regency KPAD for the 2020-2025 period.

"Therefore, we are committed to supporting Bogor district government programs, especially in child protection in Bogor district, so that Bogor district children have their rights fulfilled and protected from all violence," he said.
