Ministry Of Health Says You Can Tracing Omicron Patients Jakarta-Bogor Trip: As Long As He Remembers Meeting Anyone
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health will immediately trace the Omicron case brought by Jakarta-Bogor travelers as a mitigation effort so that the risk of transmission does not spread.
"We can trace the origin of the person concerned, considering that he met anyone during the Jakarta-Bogor trip", said Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, who was confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday, January 12, as reported by Antara.
Nadia said the tracking of the patient's travel history was carried out in coordination with the COVID-19 Apprenticeship Task Force and the Health Office in the Bogor and DKI Jakarta districts.
She said that currently, the patient in question is undergoing the isolation process at a government-owned health service facility in Jakarta.
Nadia appealed to the relevant agencies to continue to intensify the tracking of COVID-19 cases through testing and tracing activities. Meanwhile, people with symptoms of illness can immediately go to the nearest health service facility.
"Early detection can be done if our body condition is not healthy and immediately vaccinate and use the PeduliLindungi application", she said.
The asymptomatic Omicron patient is a 28-year-old teenager who is moving from his residence in Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, West Java to DKI Jakarta using public transportation.
Head of the Bogor District Health Office, Mike Kaltarina, suspected that the patient had contracted Omicron from local transmission since January 6, 2022.
From efforts to trace the patient's travel history, as many as ten people who had close contacts tested negative for COVID-19.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health confirmed that the number of cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 continued to increase. As of Tuesday, January 11, the total has been reported to have reached 802 cases. Most of it is still donated by foreign travelers.
