JAKARTA - The Health Office of Indramayu Regency, West Java, is targeting COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in the area to complete 14 days so that every day one public health center must inject the vaccine to 250 children.

"Our target is to finish within the next 14 days, so every day 12,261 children must be vaccinated," said Acting Head of the Indramayu District Health Office Wawan Ridwan in Indramayu, as reported by Antara, Thursday, January 6.

He said the COVID-19 vaccination program for children aged 6-11 years in Indramayu Regency was carried out simultaneously starting Thursday and carried out in a number of elementary schools.

He explained that to accelerate vaccination for children 6-11 years old, synergy and cohesiveness from all elements of society were needed.

In addition, he said, it is necessary to educate parents so that their "children" are willing to be injected with vaccines, because vaccines are safe for children.

"The acceleration of vaccination for children needs support from all parties, especially parents," he said.

Wawan continued to achieve the target of 14 days after the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination for this child, then per day one public health center had to inject 250 children.

With this achievement, the vaccination target can be completed immediately, so that group immunity can be quickly realized.

In addition, the acceleration of vaccination can also speed up the face-to-face learning process 100 percent.

"We hope that all children aged six to 11 years who are also elementary school students can be vaccinated, so that group immunity is created, and when the PTM is carried out they will be ready," he said.
