The First Day Of Novel Baswedan And Colleagues Wear Police's Uniform, Tireless Spirit To Fight Corruption

JAKARTA - Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan and 43 former KPK employees who did not pass the National Insight Test (TWK) officially entered work as State Civil Apparatus (ASN) Polri today.

Yudi Purnomo, the former Chair of the KPK Employee Forum, shared information about the activities of the former 44 ASN Polri ex-KPK via WhatsApp messages.

"Yes, it's true (started work-ed). And we are ready to carry out assignments in the context of eradicating corruption," said Yudi when confirmed to be launched from Antara, Monday, January 3.

Yudi said the activities on the first day of duty at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipidkor) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police were giving directions. According to Yudi, on the first day of work at the National Police, he and his colleagues were greeted warmly and kindly by the Director of Corruption Crimes at the National Police-Criminal Investigation Department and other ranks.

"I know and are familiar with some of them because they worked together in investigating corruption when they were at the KPK," Yudi wrote, sharing his WhatsApp status.

Yudi also said the first day of duty with a new spirit against corruption in the country. "There is no deterrent in the struggle," said Yudi.

Yudi and 43 other former KPK employees were inaugurated as National Police ASN on December 9, 2021. Furthermore, the 44 ASN Police attended the Police administration briefing and education period in Bandung for two weeks.

Previously, National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo in a year-end release at the National Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Friday (31/12) said that the recruitment of 44 former KPK employees to become National Police ASN is one of the National Police's efforts to eradicate corruption.

The National Police will also develop the Directorate of Corruption Crimes into the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas), which will strengthen the field of preventing and recovering state losses.

"We will develop it, moreover we have recruited 44 former KPK, this is our commitment to strengthen the corruption eradication division in the Polri institution, especially in the field of preventing and recovering state losses," said Sigit.
