In 2021, The Ministry Of PUPR Builds 2,489.2 Km Toll Roads Directly Connected To Industry And Airports

Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continues to build a number of toll road projects which are part of the National Strategic Project (PSN). The total toll roads that have been operating throughout Indonesia by the end of 2021 are operating for 2,489.2 kilometers (km).

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the construction of the toll road was in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 56 of 2018 concerning the Second Amendment to Presidential Regulation Number 3 of 2016 concerning Acceleration of PSN Implementation.

"The presence of toll roads that are connected to productive areas such as industrial areas, tourism, airports and ports will be able to reduce logistics costs and increase the competitiveness of domestic products," he said in a written statement received by VOI, quoted on Saturday, January 1.

Until November 2021, the length of toll roads that have been operating reached 2,457 km. The total is the accumulation of toll roads that were completed and operated in the 1978-2014 period of 795 km, the 2015-2019 period of 1,298 km, and in 2020 of 246 km.

From January 2021 to November 2021 a length of 122.9 km has started operating, and in December 2021 it is planned that 32.2 km will be operational, so that the total toll roads that have been operating throughout Indonesia by the end of 2021 are 2,489.2 km long.

"From January to November 2021, there are 10 new toll roads that have been completed along a length of 122.9 km," he said.

The 10 new toll roads are Bogor Ring Road section 3A (2.9 km), Kayu Agung - Palembang - Betung section 1 phase 1B (8.2 km), Sigli - Banda Aceh section 3 (16 km), Medan-Binjai Section 1A (4.2 km), Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran (14.2 km), Serpong-Cinere Section 1 (6.5 km), Cibitung-Cilincing Section 1 (2.7 km), Balikpapan-Samarinda Section 1 and 5 (32.4 km), Six DKI Toll Road sections section A (9.3 km), and Serang-Panimbang Section 1 (26.5 km).

The remaining three toll roads spanning 32.2 km are targeted for completion by the end of December 2021, consisting of the Manado-Bitung Section 2B (13.5 km), the Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 2 (6.4 km), and the Binjai-Langsa Binjai segment. - Stabat (12.3 km).

"So the total length of toll roads that will start operating in 2021 is 155.1 km," he said.

Furthermore, in 2022-2024 it is planned that 1,010,8 km will operate, namely 421.8 km in 2022, 338.1 km in 2023, and 250.8 km in 2024.

"It is targeted that the toll roads operating in Indonesia in 2024 are 3,500 km long," he explained.
