DKI Civil Service Police Unit Deploys 1,695 Personnel To Maintain Order On New Year's Eve

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit deployed as many as 1,695 personnel on the night of the turn of the year 2021 to 2022, as an effort to control public order in several public space locations in Jakarta.

The head of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit, Arifin, explained that the 1,695 personnel who were on standby were part of the 3,955 personnel, of which the others will be assigned to standby on Saturday, January 1, 2022, with 1,055 personnel, and on Sunday, January 2, 1,205 personnel.

"In general, his job is to control public order on New Year's Eve. Next is to monitor compliance and discipline of public health protocols and business actors", said Arifin, quoted by Antara on Friday, December 31.

Arifin explained that the personnel will also carry out duties on New Year's Eve, namely monitoring the implementation of religious events at places of worship, which are on standby until Sunday, January 2, to anticipate crowds at tourist attractions.

Then, synergize with elements of the TNI and Police, as well as all other regional government apparatus and representatives from community organizations or institutions in the region.

To secure crowd control areas or "crowd-free night" (CFN) in 11 locations, on Friday, December 31 and Saturday, January 1 from 22.00 WIB to 04.00 WIB, the Civil Service Police Unit spread out as many as 1,030 percent.

The 11 CFN locations are Sudirman-Thamrin Street, Monas, Kemayoran (Benyamin Sueb Street), PIK 2 Area, Sunter Lake Area, Kota Tua, Bulungan-Barito Street, Kemang, Asia-Africa Street, Senopati Street, Gunawarman Street, SCBD and East Flood Canal.

Arifin appealed to the public to reduce activities outside the home during New Year's Eve and New Year's holidays.

In addition, managers of malls, shopping centers, restaurants, entertainment and tourism businesses, tourist attractions, and public places/areas are requested to optimize the use of the Cares for Protection Application.

"The operating hours of business places and community economic centers end at 22.00 WIB. Stay disciplined with the 5M health protocol in carrying out daily activities", he said.
