BKT Area Is Closed With Barrier To Prevent Crowds On New Year's Eve
JAKARTA - The East Flood Canal (BKT) area has begun to be closed by officers ahead of the 2022 new year. The closure is carried out using a concrete barrier to prevent crowds from forming on New Year's Eve.
The government has also set a Crowd Free Night (CFN) on New Year's Eve to prevent a spike in the number of COVID-19.
From observations in the field, joint officers closed using a concrete barrier that was brought by truck on the sports track which is usually used as a place to sell at night.
District Secretary (Sekcam) Duren Sawit Ali Mansyur Siregar said traders were also temporarily prohibited from selling from December 31, 2021, to January 2, 2022.
"Traders and providers of children's toys are feared to attract crowds," Ali told reporters, Thursday, December 30.
