KH Miftachul Akhyar Appointed As PBNU Aam President 2021-2026

JAKARTA - Nine Ahlul Walii Wal Aqdi (AHWA) teams have agreed to appoint KH Miftachul Akhyar as Rais Aam PBNU for the period 2021-2026.

"AHWA has carried out its duties as mandated by the muktamirin which was entrusted to 9 AHWA members. The atmosphere of the AHWA meeting was chaired by KH Ma'ruf Amin. The atmosphere is very close, full of kinship, even with the civility, manners, and morals shown by our kiai who are truly role models for all of us," said AHWA member KH Zainal Abidin in announcing the results of the AHWA trial, quoted from the TVNU YouTube channel, Friday, December 24 in the morning.

"That who became Rais Aam for PBNU 2021-2026 was KH Miftachul Akhyar," said Zainal Abidin, to the thunderous applause of the congress.

The nine AHWA who held the trial were KH Dimyati Rais, KH Mustofa Bisri, KH Ma'ruf Amin, KH Anwar Mansur, KH TG. Turmudzi, KH Miftachul Akhyar, KH Nurul Juda Jazuli, KH Buya Ali Akbar Marbun, and KH Zainal Abidin.

Referring to the rules of the congress, the election of Rais Aam PBNU was agreed to use the AHWA system. With this model, Rais Aam will be elected by nine people who are mandated by PCNU and PWNU to become AHWA. The AHWA model focuses on the deliberation and consensus approach.

Meanwhile, the determination of the General Chairperson of the PBNU Tanfidziyah will be prioritized by consensus, but if there is no bright spot, a vote will be held. The candidates will compete for the support of the voters, namely PCNU, PCINU, PWNU, PBNU, and autonomous bodies.
