The Discipline Of Mall Management In Surabaya Using PeduliLindungi App Is Decreasing

SURABAYA - Commission A for Law and Government of the Surabaya City DPRD assessed that the level of discipline of mall managers in City of Heroes, East Java, towards the use of the PeduliLindungi application has decreased.

Member of Commission A DPRD Surabaya Josiah Michael said that before the new year shopping centers will usually be filled with people who visit the mall.

"For this reason, mall managers and mall entrance officers must carry out strict procedures, such as prospective visitors using the PeduliLindungi application when entering the mall," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.

Josiah admitted, during a visit to one of the largest malls in Surabaya, it was known that many visitors had difficulty using the PeduliLindungi application, but the officers instead let visitors into the mall.

"As a result, there are a lot of visitors inside the mall," said the PSI legislator.

For this reason, he continued, mall officers must be strict with potential visitors, especially as the new year approaches, Surabaya residents will definitely come to the mall.

"We ask the officers to increase the security of prospective mall visitors ahead of the turn of the year," he said.

In addition, he continued, his party also urged the Surabaya City Government to increase security to double the usual day.

According to him, most of the Christian congregations had performed their Christmas service before December 25, 2021. This was because the central government had previously implemented PPKM Level 3 during Christmas and New Year, but it was eventually cancelled.

"So right now security is the most important thing on New Year's Eve 2022," he said.

Even so, he continued, security in the city needs to be improved again because his party does not want to repeat security terror incidents.
