Jasa Marga: Vehicles Leaving Jabodetabek Increase By 7.8 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) recorded that the number of vehicles leaving the Greater Jakarta area during the period 17-22 December reached 938,144 units, an increase of 7.8 percent compared to November.

"The total volume of vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area rose 7.8 percent compared to normal traffic for the November 2021 period with a total of 870,371 vehicles", said Jasa Marga's official statement quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 23.

The number of vehicles leaving Jabodetabek is the cumulative number of traffic flows from the four main toll gates, namely the Cikupa Toll Gate towards Merak, Ciawi Toll Gate towards Puncak, Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, and Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate towards Trans-Java and Bandung.

Jasa Marga detailed that as many as 423,320 vehicles or 46.1 percent headed east (Trans-Java and Bandung), 288,658 vehicles or 30.8 percent headed west (Merak), and 217,163 vehicles or 23.1 percent headed south (Puncak).

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

East direction

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road with a total of 223,758 vehicles, an increase of 14.3 percent from normal traffic.

- Traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via Kalihurip Utama Toll Gate Cipularang Toll Road with a total of 208,652 vehicles, an increase of 10.3 percent from normal traffic.

The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two toll gates was 432,320 vehicles, an increase of 12.4 percent from normal traffic.

West direction

The flow of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak through the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 288,658 vehicles, up 1.1 percent from normal traffic.

South Direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek towards Puncak via the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 217,163 vehicles, an increase of 8.5 percent from normal traffic.

Jasa Marga appealed to toll road users to anticipate travel before entering the toll road. Make sure the vehicle and driver are in top condition, comply with health protocols while in the rest area, fill up with sufficient fuel and electronic money balance, and obey the signs and directions of officers and take a break if you are tired of driving.
