In Conflict With His Members Over Transjakarta Dispute, Chairman Of Commission B Of DKI DPRD Resigns

JAKARTA - The chairman of Commission B for the Economy of the DKI DPRD, Abdul Aziz, has resigned from his position. This resignation was proposed when he was in conflict with members of Commission B DPRD DKI.

Some time ago, a member of Commission B reported Aziz to the Honorary Board (BK) of the DPRD for making a unilateral decision regarding the DPRD's recommendation to the BUMD PT Transjakarta regarding accidents that often occur.

Aziz admitted that he submitted his resignation verbally to his internal party, PKS, some time ago.

"I submitted (resignation) verbally through the party structure," said Aziz when confirmed, Thursday, December 23.

Even though he was in conflict with a member of Commission B, Aziz admitted that his resignation had nothing to do with it. He resigned because he wanted to focus on completing his master's education by not chairing a commission in the DPRD.

"I want to focus on my studies, S2 UI. It's hard to hold both (Chairman of Commission B and S2). Moreover, I am also the Secretary General of PKS DKI who is responsible for winning PKS DKI 2024," explained Aziz.

Furthermore, Aziz also commented on the problem of reporting members of Commission B on him to the DPRD BK. In the report, members of Commission B also asked the DPRD BK to remove Aziz from the position of Chair of Commission B.

"I thank my friends who submitted (reports). Indeed, I have submitted my resignation but now it has not been permitted by the party," he said.

Previously, a number of Commission B members of the DKI DPRD, Abdul Aziz, from various party factions reported to the chairman of the commission, Abdul Aziz, who was from the PKS faction, to the Honorary Board of the DKI DPRD.

A member of Commission B from the Gerindra faction, Ichwanul Muslimin, said that his party reported Aziz because the chairman held a secret meeting with the directors of the BUMD PT Transjakarta.

In addition, said Ichwanul, it turned out that Aziz had made recommendations on behalf of Commission B regarding the multiple accidents that befell Transjakarta, without the leadership of Commission B and several other members knowing.

"The secretary of Commission B, Pandapotan Sinaga, did not even know the results of the recommendation. So, we strongly protested as if we were treated as subordinates or subordinates," he said.

Therefore, Ichwanul said that his party asked the Honorary Board of the DKI DPRD to examine Abdul Aziz. In fact, they asked Abdul Aziz to be removed from his position as Chairman of Commission B.

"We ask Brother Abdul Aziz to be removed from the position of Chairman of Commission B, according to the evidence that has been submitted to the Honorary Board," he added.
