Meta Welcomes Christmas And New Year By Launching Holiday Theme Feature Set
JAKARTA - Welcoming the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holiday, Meta presents a series of new features for Messenger and Instagram DMs in a party atmosphere.
The new features include new AR Effects contributed by beauty experts Bretman Rock and Ashley Strong, and most notably a new festive theme for chat backgrounds, new soundmojis, and more dynamic emojis.
"We offer a series of holiday-themed features to help you get in the mood on your Instagram Messenger and DMs," said Meta on its official blog, Thursday, December 23.
First, there's the new AR Effects feature for Messenger and Instagram video calling that was worked on by beauty experts Bretman Rock and Ashley Strong. Launched this week, the effect will make sparkles and snowflakes pop from the eyes when users blink.
In addition, when you open your mouth, you will be presented with a white smoke effect, as if you are in a cold atmosphere, and will make the user's screen appear frozen.
To use this feature, users can initiate a video call on Messenger or Instagram. But you can also take selfies using these AR effects by opening the Messenger camera, then pressing the face icon and finding the item under the Effects tab.

Furthermore, Meta also introduces more dynamic emojis. When users use the Christmas tree emoji or Hanukkah and Kwanzaa candles, they will appear on the screen as larger icons to make the chat a little more fun and dynamic.
Then, when the user wants to make the chat a little more audible, the user can open the expressions tab and tap the loudspeaker, then click on the emoji and then add the voice emoji to the chat.
It doesn't stop there, there are many features present in Messenger Kids that allow users to chat with Santa, play holiday edition games, and much more.
Users can also send Christmas gifts in the form of money to those closest to them via Messenger. Users can send them gifts with personalized messages. To make it more personal, the user can even choose a virtual gift wrap on which the user will be given the money.
