Inter Vs Torino 1-0: Denzel Dumfries Confirms Nerazzurri Campione D'Inverno, Will Keep Scudetto?
JAKARTA - Denzel Dumfries ensures Inter Milan closes 2021 as Capolista or the leader of the Italian League standings. The Dutch full-back scored the winner in the Nerazzurri's 1-0 win over Torino on matchday 19 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Wednesday local time.
Cited from Antara, Dumfries scored his goal in the 30th minute when he burst into the penalty box to complete a pull pass from Edin Dzeko.
Inter came close to doubling their lead eight minutes later but Lautaro Martinez's strike after receiving Hakan Calhanoglu's cross was just wide of the target.
The visitors got the better of the second half and forced goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to save Inter from Sasa Lukic's 66th minute shot.
Four minutes before the normal dispersal, Inter had the opportunity to kill the game early, unfortunately, Alexis Sanchez's shot from outside the penalty box only grazed the post.

Meanwhile, Torino, who suffered their first defeat in the last five matches, had to be willing to be stuck in 11th place with 26 points after being overtaken by Bologna (27) who won the match early.
The two teams will return to play next year, on January 6, when Inter travel to Renato Dall'Ara against Bologna and Torino visit Gewiss Stadium against Atalanta.
