Subordinate's Prediction For Prabowo Subianto To Be A King Maker For The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - General Chair Prabowo Subianto is predicted to be the 'king maker' or actor behind the scenes in the upcoming 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

This was revealed by Gerindra Party politician Arief Poyuono after attending a discussion in the Cikini area, Central Jakarta, Sunday, December 19.

"Maybe Prabowo will only be the king maker in the future. I see, it looks like that," said Arief.

According to his subordinates, Prabowo is a statesman who is not crazy about office. Therefore, Arief believes that Prabowo will encourage outstanding young people to run in the 2024 presidential election.

"Father (Prabowo) is a statesman, which means that when he sees a great young man who is capable, he will definitely push it," he continued.

Regarding Gerindra's declaration of Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate for 2024, according to Arief, this is only the wish of the cadres and party administrators bearing the Garuda symbol.

Because, he said, Prabowo himself has not decided anything regarding his candidacy again in the presidential election. "Prabowo hasn't decided whether to go forward or not," said the former deputy governor of Gerindra.

Even when talking with Prabowo last June, added Arief, the Minister of Defense did not discuss his desire to 'run for president' again.

"Last time we met in June, he talked from morning to night, there was no topic he wanted to go forward," said Arief.

Previously, the Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani stated that one of the party's goals that had not been realized so far was to make Prabowo Subianto president.

He also discussed opportunities for cooperation between Gerindra and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in the 2024 presidential election.

"We both aspire to build Indonesia and we both defend the interests of the people. Why don't we work together to achieve that goal. Why are we fighting to make noise, even though we can work together," said Muzani in a written statement, Sunday, November 28.
