PTPP Subsidiary Builds Ngawi Big Market, President Jokowi: Thank God It Can Be Used By The Surrounding Community
JAKARTA - The state-owned construction company, PT PP (Persero) Tbk, through its subsidiary engaged in the construction sector, namely PT PP URBAN (PP Urban) inaugurated the Ngawi Big Market on Friday 17 December.
The inauguration ceremony was inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) which was symbolically marked by the signing of an inscription. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Director General of Human Settlements KemenPUPR Diana Kusumastuti, SAM V KemenPUPR Endra Saleh, Director of Strategic Infrastructure KemenPUPR Iwan Suprijanto, Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa, East Java Police Chief Inspector General Police Nico Afinta, Head of East Java BPPW Muhammad Reva, Regent of Ngawi Ony Anwar Harsono, Deputy Regent of Ngawi Dwi Rianto Jatmiko.
Then there were also the Commander of Kodam V Brawijaya, Maj. Gen. Nurchahyanto, Head of the East Java High Court Mohamad Dofir, President Director of PTPP Novel Arsyad, Director of Operations for Building PTPP Anton Satyo Hendriatmo, SVP Corporate Secretary of PTPP Yuyus Juarsa, President Director of PP Urban Nugroho Agung Sanyoto, Director Operation 2 PP Urban Fakhrul Ulum, and President Director of PT Widha Pratomo Rifqianto.
PP Urban carried out the construction of the Ngawi Big Market Project which has a building area of 15,940 m2 consisting of two floors of the building, 324 dry floors, 282 wet stalls, 38 wet stalls, 216 dry stalls, 232 dry stalls, and 58 wet stalls.
The scope of the project work includes the construction of market buildings and other supporting facilities, such as fire protection, parking lots, Water Treatment Systems, and others. One of the uniqueness of this Ngawi Big Market is in the building that carries the architectural concept and typology of the Javanese roof shape (Joglo East Java) and this Ngawi Big Market building has won the Madya Green Building (BGH) certificate.
The Ngawi Big Market Development Project has been carried out since November 2020 with a contract duration until December 31, 2021. Until the time of the inauguration, most of the selling places (kiosks, dry bottoms, wet bottoms, wet losses, and dry losses) can already be used by traders to start buying and selling activities at Pasar Besar Ngawi.
With the inauguration of the Ngawi Big Market, it is hoped that it will be able to grow the interest of the Ngawi people to shop with a more modern and comfortable market feel so that it can increase the economic growth of the Ngawi people as well.

"We hope that this market can become the center of trading activity in Ngawi Regency and should also be a lever for the economic movement of the people in Ngawi and its surroundings to accelerate the process of economic recovery after this pandemic," the President continued.

On another occasion, PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad congratulated PP Urban on the inauguration of the construction of the Ngawi Big Market as a trigger for the economic growth of the Ngawi Regency community.
