The Man Who Pointed A Gun In Banyuwangi Arrested
BANYUWANGI - The man who held a gun at Banyuwangi, East Java, was arrested by the police. The man with the initial R was secured at his residence, in the Tegaldlimo area.
The Head of the Banyuwangi Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Iwan Hari Poerwanto, confirmed that the man whose video of the cowboy action went viral was arrested. He also said that the gun the man was pointing at was an airsoft gun.
"We managed to secure the man at his residence, in the Kalisari Hamlet, Purwosari Village, Tegaldlimo District. After we communicated with colleagues at the East Java Regional Police, the gun used was an airsoft gun", he said during a press conference, Friday, December 17.
It was rumored that the man who held the knife like a cowboy was an Intel, but AKP Iwan denied it. From the results of the temporary investigation, the perpetrator was unemployed and claimed to be a member of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Association in Bali.
"Indeed there is a card, we are still communicating the truth with Perbakin colleagues. We are currently conducting further investigations on the alleged perpetrator", he said.
To obtain accurate information, his party is currently calling several witnesses who were at the scene at the time.
"We have not been able to confirm how many people were being held at gunpoint, we are still investigating and summoning several people in the viral video to testify. We are still investigating the entrapment of the article", he said.

Previously, Banyuwangi residents were shocked by two videos with a duration of 19 and 23 seconds which recorded the action of a man pointing a gun while watching a Jaranan art entertainment, in Suko Dadi Hamlet, Sraten Village, Cluring District, Banyuwangi.
The action occurred when a group of youths who were also watching the Jaranan got involved in a dispute. The man then took the gun that was placed on his waist and then pointed it at the youths.
The action was caught by a resident's cellphone camera and eventually spread widely on social media.
