National Police Chief Orders Regional Police Chiefs To Guard Investment
JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has instructed regional unit heads (kasatwil) or regional police chiefs to optimize their duties in guarding investment in the country by taking steps to control COVID-19 and prioritizing prevention in maintaining security and social security.
"This is a concern for all of us on how to oversee the investment climate. The President wants the police to be able to control it so that it doesn't become a problem that hinders investment," said Sigit, quoted by Antara from a written statement, Wednesday, December 15.
Sigit said the National Police had a mandate from President Joko Widodo to oversee all forms of investment in Indonesia. This mandate was conveyed by the President at the head of the National Police Headquarters, last Friday, December 3, in Bali.
"This is our hope and opportunity. When other countries are affected by COVID-19, then when the rate of COVID-19 in Indonesia is under control, we can open up space for other countries to invest in Indonesia," said Sigit.
He stressed that to ensure uninterrupted investment, the ranks of the regional police must be able to carry out early detection and respond quickly.
According to the National Police Chief, in dealing with the situation, the National Police must prioritize preemptive, preventive, and finally repressive actions (action).
"In the future, preemptive and preventive action in solving problems, repressive measures are the last step. The police must be present in the community. So that problems can be resolved before there is a potential disturbance. That is our task," said Sigit asserted.
In addition, Sigit also reminded of the important role in maintaining the growth rate of COVID-19 cases by accelerating vaccinations and disciplining health protocols (prokes).

Sigit revealed that he had agreed with the TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa to take firm action if any members were involved in problems in the field.
"TNI-Polri solidarity, I think we have been building for a long time and must continue. Because this is the main key. Don't let there be a gap between the TNI-Polri being pitted against us, because it will be a loss for all of us. TNI is our partner who must continue to work together to create a security and security situation. which is safe and comfortable," said Sigit.
Sigit also reminded his staff to continue to oversee the Precision Program (Predictive, Responsiveness, and Transparency of Justice) in order to realize people's expectations of the Bhayangkara Corps institution.
