KSP Ensures Bali's Readiness To Welcome Delegates From G20 Member Countries
JAKARTA - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) team went to the field to monitor and ensure Bali's readiness to welcome the delegation of G20 member countries.
"More than 115 meetings were held in Bali, because it is important for KSP to see firsthand and ensure Bali's readiness for the G20 Indonesia 2022 presidency," said KSP Main Expert Expert Widiarsi Agustina, after visiting Bali, quoted by Antara from a press release, Wednesday, 15 December.
Widiarsi Agustina or who is familiarly called Ninil stated that several aspects were of concern to KSP in field verification, including security and the level of COVID-19 cases.
"The results of KSP discussions with the Bali Police Chief and Pangdam Udhayana, in essence, Bali's security is quite conducive, the crime rate is low, and the COVID-19 number has fallen to an average of below 10 cases per day," she said.
Widiarsi also assessed that Bali's readiness for the G20 2022 presidency was also demonstrated by vaccination coverage, community discipline in complying with health protocols, transportation and accommodation, and support from the Balinese tourism community.
"We appreciate the readiness of all elements in Bali for the implementation of the G20," she added.
On that occasion, the KSP team also monitored economic activities in a number of markets and shops in the Denpasar, Klungkung, Ubud, Nusa Dua, and Seminyak areas.
"Economic activity has indeed started to move, but purchasing power is still low. Hopefully it will increase further during the G20," said Widiarsi.

Meanwhile, Bali Police Chief, Inspector General Putu Layan Danu Putra, emphasized that his party would continue to enforce health protocol discipline to prevent a spike in new cases.
"We are also working with the COVID-19 Task Force to carry out joint operations in entertainment and tourism places," he explained.
Regarding security, Putu Layan said that the Bali Police had 12 thousand personnel on standby to secure G20 activities for the next year.
"The amount will still change according to need," he concluded.
As is known, Indonesia has started its chairmanship at the G20 as of December 1, 2021. Then it continues with the kick-off of the Sherpa Track Meeting in Jakarta December 7-8 and the kick-off of the Finance Track Meeting in Bali December 9-10.
G20 meetings will continue until October 2022. Apart from Bali, a series of G20 activities will also be held in Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Labuan Bajo and Medan.
