Good News For Ariel's Fans, Noah Re-records Taman Langit Album

JAKARTA - Noah band will launch the album Second Chance: Taman Langit and also a series of music concerts for 2022.

Second Chance: Taman Langit is an old album by the band Peterpan which was re-recorded. This album itself is Peterpan's debut album which was released in 2003.

However, musically and soundly the songs were updated and some were rearranged by Noah's version.

Ariel said that the band had done a lot of considerations before releasing Second Chance: Taman Langit, one of which was using the latest technology to maximize sound quality.

"Not everything we re-arrange, but we re-record everything, the difference is very big because it was recorded in 2003," said vocalist Noah at a press conference for the Second Chance album at Plataran Senayan, Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, December 12

Ariel further explained the reason for not re-arranging all the songs in the Taman Langit album because there are melodies that are iconic and become memories for many people.

"There are several considerations because people have memories with the melody like Semua Tentang Kita, when people tune their guitars they use that song," said Ariel.

"So there are some tones or what we think are iconic, we ignore it but the sound must have changed," he continued.

Apart from Taman Langit, other albums that will also be re-recorded throughout 2022 are Bintang di Surga, Hari Yang Cerah, and Second Chance.

"This is a long series and the start is from Taman Langit. Later there will be some very iconic video clips that we will re-create, as much as possible the same because we want to recall but are fresh," said Ariel.

Facing the Challenge

Re-recording the album Taman Langit was not an easy thing for Noah's band, because there were a number of challenges to be faced.

Noah will soon release the album Second Chance: Taman Langit. This is an old album from Peterpan from 2003 which was re-recorded.

In the process, Noah had to choose which songs needed to be rearranged and maintained their originality.

"My voice is also heavier now, so there are some considerations whether to follow my voice now or sing using the previous technique," said Ariel.

Ariel explained that some of the songs underwent a change in arrangement, but there were also those whose authenticity was maintained even though the sound would be different.

"Most of the things we changed were not made into video clips, so that's what we rearranged," said vocalist Noah.

Ariel emphasized that although some songs underwent arrangement updates, the title had not changed.

Meanwhile, David said that the toughest challenge to re-record an album that had become a hit is to make it sound better than before, especially in terms of sound.

"What matters most is how to present these songs with a better sound because the sound is growing rapidly," said Noah's keyboardist.

"Can we only do that once? The challenge is there. We are very careful to choose which songs are remade and left alone but with up-to-date sound," he added.
