The National Disaster Management Agency Prepares Residential Fund For Mount Semeru Disaster Refugees

JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) has prepared a housing waiting fund (DTH) for refugees from the hot clouds and avalanches of Mount Semeru, Lumajang Regency, East Java.

"Meanwhile, BNPB will prepare DTH worth IDR 500 thousand/KK which can be used to rent houses for affected communities," said the acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in a statement quoted by Antara, Friday, December 10.

Aam said that currently the number of refugees is still being collected at the refugee camps. Meanwhile, detailed data collection cannot be carried out, because it is still waiting for the affected conditions to be safe.

Then for the relocation of refugees, Aam said his party would record together the amount of damage to residential buildings after the condition of the affected area was declared safe.

"The construction of houses in the relocation site will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR)," said Aam.

Previously, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lumajang Regency, Indra Wibowo Leksana, said that his party had reached 21 sub-districts to the evacuation points for the distribution of logistical assistance.

He appealed to residents who wished to provide assistance to affected residents in the form of funds that would later be needed for the relocation of refugees.

“In terms of logistics, we hope that for the time being there will be quite a lot of logistics. Where possible, assistance is not in the form of goods, it is realized in the form of funds. These funds will be needed for the relocation of refugees," he said.

Based on data from the Command Post on Thursday, December 9, at 16.00 p.m., 43 people died, 21 were seriously injured, 12 were missing and 6.542 people evacuated spread over 125 points.
