Lampung Provincial Government Forms Lobster Cultivation Center To Meet Local Consumption Needs
JAKARTA - The Lampung Provincial Government (Pemprov) is trying to establish a lobster center to meet local consumption and cultivation needs.
"Currently, the lobster center already has a mapping for the location according to the aquaculture segmentation," said Acting Assistant II for Economy and Development of Lampung Province, Kusnardi, when contacted in Bandarlampung, Thursday.
He explained that the abundant potential of lobster fry in Lampung is one of the potentials that must be utilized while maintaining environmental sustainability for the welfare of the community.
"So far we have taken a lot of fry from abroad, if there is a lot of potential here, it would be better managed properly so that it can meet the needs of local lobsters rather than being sold abroad," he said.

According to him, the local government is also actively inviting investors to form a lobster center which will be located on the coast of Teluk Ratai and along Lampung Bay.
"Currently it has been regulated on procedures for catching fry of a certain size. So it would be better for us to raise the lobster seeds in the center that will be made so that later it can also have an impact on the people on the coast of Lampung Bay," he said.
He said that later the lobster centers would be mapped based on segmentation from fry to enlargement to become lobsters ready to harvest according to a certain size. By empowering the community based on a populist economic system.
"For the feed section, it will be placed in the eastern part because there are lots of green mussels. So everything has a segmentation according to lobster growth, so this is a form of people's economy," he said again.
He continued, the existence of the lobster center is expected to boost the Lampung fisheries sector so that it can continue to develop.
