Beats And Robs Grandma's Motorbike, Man In Binjai, North Sumatra Is Shot
MEDAN - Police arrested a man with the initials SE (31). He was desperate to rob a motorcycle belonging to a grandmother named Nuraini (73).
Binjai Police Chief, AKBP Ferio Sano Ginting, through the Head of Public Relations Subdivision, Iptu Junaidi, said the incident occurred on Sunday 5 December at the victim's house. At that time, the victim had just returned from shopping.
"When the victim was about to put a Honda Beat motorcycle into her house, suddenly the perpetrators came and hit the victim on the shoulder, causing her to fall", said Iptu Junaidi, Thursday, December 9.
At that time, the victim had tried to defend her motorbike but failed. The suspect ran away with the victim's motorbike.
"As a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to her left big toe and knee. She also felt pain in her left rib", he said.
After experiencing the incident, the victim then made a report to the Binjai Police. The police team who received the report, immediately pursued the perpetrator until finally he was arrested.
"The perpetrator was arrested on Samanhudi Street, Tanah Merah Village, South Binjai District on Monday, December 6. We arrested the perpetrator while riding a stolen motorbike. However, at that time the police number sign had been opened or not installed anymore", said Iptu Junaidi.

When interrogated, the perpetrator admitted his actions. However, when the police were collecting evidence, the perpetrators fought back.
"Officers fired warning shots into the air but the perpetrators ignored them. Then, officers took measured measures so that it hit the perpetrator's left leg", he said.
For his actions, the perpetrator is subject to Article 365 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.
