PPKM Level 3 Canceled Implementation, Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Waits For Central Directions
MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution responded to the cancellation of the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) Level III simultaneously throughout Indonesia. Bobby Nasution is waiting for further regulations from the central government
"We will wait for further regulations, from the superior government we will wait for the next instructions", Bobby said, Tuesday, December 7th.
Even so, Bobby Nasutuon appealed to business actors in the city of Medan such as malls, cafes, restaurants, and hotels to run their business by implementing health protocols.
"But what we always convey first is that public places such as restaurants and cafes still apply health protocols", he continued.
Bobby Nasution emphasized that the PPKM level II regulations will still apply in Medan City. For that, the people of Medan City can follow it well.
Currently, the Medan City Government is still waiting for instructions and directives related to Natura from the Central Government after the cancellation of PPKM Level III.
"We will still apply the PPKM Level II rules here while waiting for further regulations from the Central Government. Whether there will be additional rules ahead of Christmas and New Year, we will continue to follow them, we will guide them", said Bobby Nasution.
“Currently, the PPKM Level II rules are there. We are still following this. But later on for further regulations such as restrictions on entrances to the city of Medan, we will review it further", he added.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, revealed that the government had decided to cancel implementing the PPKM level III policy during the period of Christmas 2021 and New Year 2022 as a whole in all regions of Indonesia.

Originally, the implementation of PPKM Level III in all parts of Indonesia was effective from December 24, 2021, to January 2, 2022, in the future.
"The government has decided not to apply PPKM level III during the Christmas and New Year period in all regions. Implementation of the PPKM level during Christmas and New Year will continue to follow the assessment of the pandemic situation as currently applies, but with some tightening", said Luhut in his press statement, Tuesday, December 7.
Luhut explained that the decision to cancel PPKM Level III at Christmas and New Year was based on significant improvements in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
