Garut Regency Government Distributes IDR 1 Million Per House Flooded
GARUT - The Government of Garut Regency, West Java distributed financial assistance of IDR 1 million per house for residents who were affected or only flooded by flash floods in Sukawening and Karangtengah sub-districts for the cost of cleaning the environment.
"It has been distributed through the Disperkim (Housing and Settlement Service)", said the Head of the Garut Regional Disaster Management Agency, Satria Budi, quoted by Antara, Friday, December 3.
He stated that the flash floods that hit the two sub-districts had damaged and inundated people's houses, leaving mud and other materials such as wood.
Satria said that the houses affected by the flood and received the assistance of IDR 1 million were 82 houses in Sukawening District and 31 houses in Karangtengah.
Meanwhile, residents' houses that were damaged or washed away by the flood currents, he said, could not be distributed by the regional government.
"It's not broken yet", he said.

Meanwhile, the Regional Secretary of the Garut Regency Government, Nurdin Yana, added that the regional government had prepared a budget for all houses affected by flash floods, one of which was cleaning assistance of IDR 1 million per house.
Meanwhile, those whose houses were heavily damaged or swept away said Nurdin, according to the regulations, will receive maximum financial assistance of IDR 50 million.
"Those that are heavily damaged or cannot be occupied anymore will be assisted in the amount of IDR 50 million", he said.
Previously, a flash flood carrying mud and wood material hit residential houses in Karangtengah and Sukawening after heavy rains flushed the Garut area, Saturday, November 27.
