Sending Bouquets Of Flowers In A Row, Traders Protest The Distribution Of Johar Market, Semarang
SEMARANG - A number of traders at Johar Market, Semarang City, Central Java, are still protesting against the distribution of stalls in the market which has been completed and has begun to be used because it is considered unfair.
The traders' protest was shown by sending wreaths containing objections to the distribution of market stalls to the Semarang City Trade Office, Friday, December 3.
One of the traders, Sri Wahyuni, expressed his objection to the stall he had obtained.
According to him, before the Johar Market burned down a few years ago, he had a stall on the 1st floor. However, he continued, at the new Johar Market, he actually got a stall on the 2nd floor.
"It used to be five, now there are only two stalls on the 2nd floor," he said, quoted by Antara.
Another objection, he said, was that traders whose stalls did not catch fire in the past got a booth on the 1st floor.
Meanwhile, the attorney accompanying the Johar market traders from LBH Buser Indonesia, Didik Agus, said there were around 400 traders who were thrown from their initial trading locations.
"The problem is that there are still those who haven't got the stalls and are thrown from the stalls that they should have," he said.
According to him, the data on the problematic traders were submitted to the Trade Office today.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Semarang City Trade Service, Fravarta Sadman, considered it reasonable if there were traders who were dissatisfied with the draw for the stall.
He said the traders were dissatisfied because they did not return to their old selling locations. According to him, the process of structuring the Johar Market traders will continue to be evaluated.
