Banjarmasin Police Arrest Male Owner, Important In Drug Network
JAKARTA - The Banjarmasin Police, the ranks of the South Kalimantan Police, managed to thwart the circulation of 826 grams of crystal methamphetamine from a man arrested in Barito Kuala Regency.
"The suspect with the initials AL (38) was arrested during a transaction on Ahmad Yani Street Km 8, to be precise in front of the Ciputra Hospital, Citraland Housing, Banjar Regency, Tuesday, November 23", said Head of the Banjarmasin Narcotics Investigation Unit, Kompol Mars Suryo Kartiko, Friday, November 26.
While at the location, the police found two packages of methamphetamine which the suspect claimed to be his to sell to buyers.
Then the officers searched the suspect's house on Gelatik IIIA Street, Alalak District, Barito Kuala Regency. As a result, eight more methamphetamine packages were obtained with a net weight of 826 grams.
Mars Suryo admitted that his team is still working on developing it to be able to uncover the city network that controls the suspect.
The results of the police's preliminary analysis showed that the meth was supplied from outside the area where the suspect was involved in inter-provincial networks in the circulation of the illicit goods.
"Seeing the evidence found at his house, the suspect's role is quite important from his network, we are still investigating everything", said Mars Suryo on behalf of the Banjarmasin Police Chief, Kombes Rachmat Hendrawan, as quoted by Antara.
The perpetrators were charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) sub-Article 112 paragraph (2) of the Indonesian Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of a minimum sentence of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years.
