Densus 88 Says Farid Ahmad Okbah And Ahmad Zain Are Not Involved In Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) Fundraising
JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror stated that two suspected terrorists from the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network, Farid Ahmad Okbah and Ahmad Zain An-Najah, were not directly involved in collecting funds through the Amil Zakat Institution of the Abdurrahman Bin Auf Mall Agency (LAZ BM ABA).
Based on the results of the examination, they played a role in providing views to Fitria Sanjaya as the leader of LAZ BM ABA regarding what to do.
"FS (Fitria Sanjaya) in its structure asked for instructions and reports to FAO and ZA. He asked for instructions and how what else to do and so on", said Head of Operations Assistance for Densus 88, Kombes Aswin Siregar, to reporters, Thursday, November 25.
The two suspected terrorists were not involved in funding because there was no corroborating evidence. Meanwhile, from the statements of other terrorist suspects, Farid Ahmad Okbah and Ahmad Zain An-Najah are referred to only as Syura councils.
"The evidence confiscated from the house was not in cash. So what is the investigator's belief with the 28 information that has been collected from the suspects who were previously examined and the documents we found during the examination are the initial evidence", said Aswin.
Densus 88 will continue to explore the pattern of giving instructions by the two suspected terrorists. Their involvement as the Syura council in determining the leader of JI was traced.
"We have not been able to reveal how an Institution of the Abdurrahman Bin Auf Mall Agency (BM ABA) chairman reported and provided a report or asked for instructions to the Sharia Board because this is still a matter of investigation that is currently being carried out", said Aswin.
