President Director of Unilever Indonesia Ira Noviarti said that the third quarter of 2021 is still challenging due to the second wave of COVID-19 cases resulting in the implementation of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) in various regions in Indonesia.

In addition to the challenges from the pandemic side, Ira also said that the continuous increase in commodity prices also affected the company's production costs.

"These various challenges affect consumers in choosing consumption patterns in various categories, and affect the company's growth rate," said Ira in an official statement, some time ago.

On the other hand, the increase in product costs caused by the increase in commodity prices, said Ira, cannot be directly accompanied by an increase in the selling price of Unilever products, considering the low purchasing power of the people during the pandemic.
