JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning forecast for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds that could potentially occur in several parts of Indonesia, on Sunday, November 21.

In information quoted from the BMKG website via ANTARA, the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds was warned for the provinces of Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Jambi, Lampung, Riau, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, North Sumatra, Banten, DKI Jakarta, Java. West, East Java, Bali.

Similar conditions have the potential to occur in West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi.

According to the BMKG, Tropical Cyclone 90S seeds were observed in the Indian Ocean south of Banten which forms a convergence area that extends from the Indian Ocean west of Banten to the south of West Java and from the Indian Ocean south of Bali to the south of Banten which is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the tropical cyclone spawn area, and along the convergence area.

In addition, this system also forms a low-level jet with wind speeds of more than 25 knots that extends from the Indian Ocean south of West Java to the southwest of Banten which is able to increase the wave height along the low-level jet area.
