The Captain Of The Kejari Wakatobi Ship Whose Engine Died In The Waters Of Kaledupa

KENDARI - The captain of a speedboat belonging to the Wakatobi District Attorney's Office, Herianto Jaelani, died when the ship's engine died in the waters of Kaledupa Island on a voyage from Tomia Island to Wangi Wangi, Wakatobi Regency, Southeast Sulawesi.

The Search and Rescue Office or Basarnas Kendari said the victim was Herianto Jaelani, who had intended to repair a damaged machine, but suddenly fell.

The victim fainted and his life could not be saved. Information about the accident that the ship belonging to the Kejari Wakatobi experienced an engine failure on the voyage from Tomia to Wanci, which was reported by the employee of the Wakatobi District Attorney's Office, Ali Mardan, at 13.00 WITA.

One of the 6 passengers on the speedboat that was tossed around in the open sea was declared dead.

Based on the report quoted by Antara, at 13.15 WITA, the Wakatobi SAR Post Rescue Team was dispatched to the accident site using RIB to provide SAR assistance.

The distance to the accident site is around 21.32 NM with sunny cloudy weather with a wave height of 0.5 - 1 meter

At 14.04 WITA, the Rescue team arrived at the accident site and immediately evacuated the entire PoB (Person on Boat) where 1 person from the PoB was previously reported to have fainted when the team arrived at the accident site was already dead.

All PoBs were evacuated to Wanci Tourism Hotel Pier and arrived at 15.04 WITA.

With the completion of the evacuation process, SAR Ops is declared complete and closed. The passengers who survived were Muh Firman, Erwin, Nur Safitra, Eko, Laode Iksan, and Herianto Jaelani (died).

The elements involved in the rescue were 6 people from the Wakatobi SAR Post Rescuer, 1 person from the Wakatobi Police Chief, 1 person from the Kaledupa Sector Police, 2 people from the Taou Health Center in South Kaledupa.
