Revealed! Before Arrested By Detachment 88, Jamaah Islamiyah Elder Farid Okbah Met Anies Baswedan
JAKARTA - The National Police's Anti-terror Detachment 88 team arrested three suspected terrorists in Bekasi, West Java, Tuesday, November 16. The three suspected terrorists are affiliated with the Jamaah Islamiyah (JI) network.
One of those arrested was Farid Okbah (FAO) who played the role of the syuro council or elder at JI and the sharia board at Amil Zakat Baitul Mal Abdurrahman bin Auf (LAZ BM ABA).
Farid, in his daily life is also active in preaching, sharing his activities on social media Instagram.
A few days ago, he had uploaded a meeting with the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan. The moment of the meeting occurred on Sunday, November 14 before Farid was arrested by Densus 88.
At that time Anies came to the funeral home of Farid's mother-in-law. In an Instagram comment, Farid wrote, "Thank God, today is November 14, 2021, Mr. Anies @aniesbaswedan the Governor of Jakarta is present at my mother-in-law's funeral home. Hopefully our mother-in-law Fetum bint Abdullah Bawazier will be forgiven of her sins and be blessed by Allah with Jannah to the cemetery to be prayed and buried in Kober, Jatinegara. Allahumma Amin," quoted Wednesday, November 17.
In the police investigation, Farid is known to have played a role in providing cash for the Shield of the One, which is a wing of JI. In fact, Farid is said to have communicated with the suspected terrorist Arif Siswanto who was arrested earlier.

The party formed by FAO was the Indonesian People's Da'wah Party or PDRI," said the Head of the Civil Service Section Police Public Relations Division Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan told reporters, Tuesday, November 16.
Apart from Farid, Densus 88 also arrested Ahmad Zain An-Najah who was arrested at Pondok Melati Bekasi. Ahmad served on the JI suryo board and the LAZ BM ABA board.
And thirdly, Anung Al-Hamat, who reportedly worked as a lecturer, was arrested on Jalan Raya Legok, Blok Mosque, Jatimelati, Pondok Melati, Bekasi City. He is active in JI-related activities.
