Darmizal: Max Sopacua Had Intensive Heart Disease Treatment

JAKARTA - The democratic politician, Darmizal, expresses his deep condolences for the death of senior Democratic Party politician Max Sopacua today, Wednesday, November 17. Max died at 05:53 western Indonesia time after undergoing treatment at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital, Jakarta.

Darmizal revealed that Max Sopacua had undergone intensive treatment last year due to heart disease. "He had a heart condition at the end of 2020 yesterday," said Darmizal, Wednesday, November 16.

 

He said that Max Sopacua's last condition had dropped enough that he had to be rushed to the RSPAD. According to him, Max Sopacua's health condition had gradually improved while undergoing intensive treatment at the RSPAD. However, he said, God had other plans.

 

“This past month, his condition was unstable, so he had to undergo treatment in Bogor, and for the past two weeks he has been undergoing treatment at the RSPAD. Today God called him, we are very sad," he said.

 

The body of the man who was born in Ambon, March 2, 1946, was supposed to be taken to Bogor, West Java, this morning.

 

Max Sopacua is a politician who served as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) for two terms in 2004–2009 and 2009–2014 from the Democratic Party.

 

Quoted from Wikipedia, Max entered the DPR representing the constituencies (Dapil) West Java IV (2004–2009) and West Java V (2009–2014) and served on Commission IX and I DPR. After not being in the Democrats, Max once joined the Prosperous Society Era (Gold) Party. However, then Max came out.

Prior to his entry into politics, Max was known as a sports news anchor at TVRI from the 1980s to the 1990s. Apart from being a news announcer, Max was also a producer at TVRI from 1985 to 2002.

His work as a sports news announcer made him active in the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) organization. Max was a member of it from 1990 to 2001. In addition, he is also a member of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).
