JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, asked the government to evaluate the face-to-face learning (PTM) policy following an increase in new cases of COVID-19, which were dominated by school clusters in 126 districts/cities.
"Therefore, apart from asking the government to evaluate the policy, we must remain vigilant and anticipate the predicted spike in COVID-19 in Indonesia in December", said Dasco.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party also appealed to the public to strictly maintain the process and not to assume that COVID-19 has ended in Indonesia.
Previously, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said there were 126 districts/cities whose COVID-19 cases had increased again. The sources of the re-occurring infections are dominated by schools to takziah (mourn) activities.
"Last week we identified 126 regencies/cities with increasing cases, some of which have increased for 3 weeks in a row", explained the Minister of Health at the PPKM press conference Monday, November 15.
"So we do the interior and most of the increase is due to positive cases of schools and takziah", continued the Minister of Health.
Therefore, the Minister of Health attempted to communicate with the Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim to immediately tighten the strict screening of face-to-face learning. This is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 cases.
"Therefore, Pak Nadiem and I will immediately consolidate this week how we carry out active and proactive surveillance", he explained.
